An Efficient Dust Collection Solution for a Mobile Road Construction Project
Challenge
A major batch plant manufacturer needed a flexible and efficient solution to collect fugitive dust at a customer’s road construction jobsite in Arlington, Texas. The key objective was to maximize material recovery and protect it from contamination, ensuring it could be seamlessly reintegrated into the production process. This approach was essential for maintaining the momentum of an important infrastructure project, ensuring it progressed on schedule without compromising on quality or environmental standards.
The C&W Solution
The C&W team engineered a custom solution that included:
- One Cartridge Pulse Mobile Dust Collector CP2600C.
- Flex hose duct package.
- Anti-overfill systems that mounted to the mobile plant to facilitate transport.
- Four Low Profile Round (LPR) Series Silo Dust Collectors.
- Transfer blowers to move material from the auxiliary silos to the main silos.
How It Works
Together, the main mobile dust collector and the four silo collectors leverage best-in-class 99.9% filtration to capture fugitive dust. The transfer blowers generate powerful airflow, moving the captured dust through flexible, durable ducts to the main silo. This process prevents contamination and maintains a clean work environment.
Once at the main silo, the dust is separated from the air stream, which is then released back into the environment. This helps the customer stay in line with stringent air quality regulations set by the EPA that require material producers meet the 9 micrograms per cubic meter standard. The collected dust is redirected into the batch production process, minimizing waste and enhancing efficiency.
