As one of the longest-running concrete producers in Alabama, Kirkpatrick Concrete has a legacy of maintaining safe and efficient ready-mix operations. With decades of experience under their belt, they understand the importance of clean air solutions to uphold their safety standards.
Recently, Kirkpatrick Concrete turned to C&W DustTech, a leader in aggregate dust collection systems, to design and build a complete system for its newest ready-mix concrete plant in Oneota, AL that increased the company’s total ready-mix plant count to .
The C&W Solution
The C&W team began by conducting a thorough engineering audit of Kirkpatrick’s new plant. This detailed assessment allowed them to understand the unique dust control needs of the operation. Based on their findings, C&W engineers designed a complete dust collection system that includes:
- A CP-5250 Cartridge Pulse Central Dust Collector, which collects dust from multiple points at the high rate of 5,250 CFM and recycles clean air back to the facility.
- Three (3) Low Profile Round (LPR) Silo Dust Collectors – Compact and user-friendly units, each equipped with overflow protection and a flow switch allowing on-demand cleaning when being filled with cement dust.
- Drive-through Vis-A-Load Shroud – Used for effective dust control and safe, efficient truck loading.
How It Works
The CP-5250 is designed to efficiently capture dust from multiple areas, channeling it through high-performing filters that capture 99.9% of dust emissions. To maintain optimal performance, the system utilizes pulse jet technology to deliver controlled, compressed air to clean the filter cartridges continuously, preventing clogging and ensuring consistent operation.
The LPR units provide essential dust collection during truck loading processes within the Vis-a-Load Shroud. These units are strategically placed to capture dust generated during material loading, ensuring that even the finest particles are collected and contained. This comprehensive system enhances dust management efficiency, contributing to a cleaner and safer working environment.
