New System Targets Fugitive Dust at Transfer Points

As experts working in heavy industry navigate tightening MSHA guidelines, C&W DustTech has introduced a new product aimed at helping them target fugitive dust. The uniquely designed Belt Conveyor Transfer Point Dry Dust Collection System can be mounted directly onto enclosed transfer points including crushers, screens and conveyors.

Conveyor transfer points are often where the largest amounts of fugitive dust escape. This new dust collector uses fans to balance airflow and direct dust particles into a compartment that houses a series of filter cartridges. Those cartridges are designed to capture particles as small as 0.5 microns. Cartridges can be easily replaced by hand.

Once airborne particles are captured in a hopper, they can be disposed of or, in some cases, retrieved and recycled. When paired with properly designed sealing and containment equipment, this new dust collector can improve overall air quality while reducing downtime.
